June 9, 2020

The Office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court of Cook County announced today that an additional employee has tested positive for COVID-19. The employee, assigned to the Criminal Department, which is headquartered on the 10th floor of the Daley Center, 50 W. Washington St., last reported for work more than two months ago. The employee is self-quarantining at home.

The employee who tested positive for coronavirus indicated that it has been over a couple of months since he/she has been in close contact with any Criminal Department or other Clerk’s Office employees. Notification is being sent to all Clerk’s Office employees regarding the latest employee to test positive for COVID-19.

The Department of Facilities Management is conducting routine cleaning of the area where the employee worked. In accordance with the Center for Disease Control current guidelines, a deep cleaning was not requested since it has been much longer than seven days since the employee was in contact with the Daley Center.

To date, 25 employees of the Office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court of Cook County have tested positive for coronavirus, and three (3) employees have received positive antibody test results after taking Novel Coronavirus antibodies blood tests.


June 3, 2020

The Office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court of Cook County announced today that another employee has received a positive antibody test result, after taking a Novel Coronavirus (“COVID-19”) antibody blood test. Antibody blood tests check your blood by looking for antibodies, which show if you had a previous infection with the COVID-19. The employee works in the Executive Office, at the Richard J. Daley Center, 50 W. Washington Street – Room 1001, Chicago . The employee believes that he/she had COVID-19 months ago. The employee is at home.

The employee who received the positive antibody blood test result has not identified any other employees whom he/she came in close contact with in the Executive Office or in other departments, divisions, districts or agencies. Notification is being sent to all Clerk’s Office employees regarding the employee that received a positive antibody test result for the coronavirus antibodies blood test.

Since the individual who received a positive antibody test result believes that he/she was COVID-19 positive months ago and the Clerk’s Office is unable to confirm when he/she was COVID-19 positive, MB Real Estate will perform its regular cleaning and not a deep cleaning of the area where the employee worked.

To date, 24 employees of the Office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court of Cook County have tested positive for coronavirus and three (3) employees have received positive antibodies test results after taking coronavirus antibodies blood tests.


June 1, 2020

The Office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court of Cook County announced today that an employee has received a positive antibody test result, after taking a Novel Coronavirus (“COVID-19”) antibody blood test. Antibody blood tests check your blood by looking for antibodies, which show if you had a previous infection with the COVID-19. The employee was assigned to the Domestic Violence Courthouse, at 555 West Harrison Street, Chicago. The employee believes that he/she had COVID-19 months ago and did not exhibit symptoms while working. The employee is at home.

The employee who received the positive antibody blood test result has not identified any other employees whom he/she came in close contact with in the Domestic Violence Courthouse or in other departments, divisions, districts or agencies. Notification is being sent to all Clerk’s Office employees regarding the employee that tested positive for the coronavirus antibodies blood test.

The Department of Facilities Management conducted a deep cleaning and sanitization of the Domestic Violence Courthouse on March 24, 2020, a date after the employee believes he/she already had coronavirus. The Department of Facilities Management is conducting routine cleaning of the area where the employee worked.

To date, 26 employees of the Office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court of Cook County have tested positive for coronavirus. Two employees have tested positive for the coronavirus antibodies blood test.


May 28, 2020

Effective May 28, 2020, until further order of the court, in light of the global coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic, and in order to protect the health and safety of the general public and court employees, the Chief Judge of the Circuit Court entered General Administrative Order 2020-01 (Link to GAO 2020-01 here). Until further order of court, all matters in all Districts and Divisions are rescheduled and continued for a period of 30 days from 1) the date currently scheduled by the court; or 2) the date as noticed by the clerk; or 3) a date not more than 30 days after July 6, 2020, whichever is later. Please note, if the 30th day falls on a weekend or court holiday, the case shall be continued until the following business day.

The Office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court of Cook County announced today that one more employee has tested positive for COVID-19. The employee works in the Accounting Department, located in the Daley Center, 50 W. Washington St., Room 1005, Chicago, and last reported for work on May 14th. The employee is hospitalized.

Employees who were in close contact with the diagnosed employee have been notified to self-quarantine at home and monitor themselves for any COVID-19 symptoms for a period of 14 days. Notification regarding the impacted areas is also being sent to all Clerk’s Office employees.

The Clerk’s Office’s Department of Facilities Management and MB Real Estate have been notified to deep clean and sanitize the area where the employee worked.

To date, 24 employees of the Office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court of Cook County have tested positive for coronavirus and one employee has tested positive for the coronavirus antibodies blood test; bringing the total to 25 employee cases in the Clerk’s Office.


May 15, 2020

The Office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court of Cook County announced today that information was received confirming that an additional employee tested positive for COVID-19. The Clerk’s Office also regrettably announced that the employee passed away, but the Office did not receive confirmation that the employee’s death was from COVID-19 or COVID-19 related. The employee, assigned to the Criminal Department, which is headquartered on the 10th floor of the Daley Center, 50 W. Washington St., Chicago, had last reported for work on March 31st. After the employee died, the Clerk’s Office was then notified that the employee had tested positive for COVID-19.

Employees identified as having close contact with the Criminal Department employee who had tested positive for the coronavirus, have been notified of the potential exposure to COVID-19. Since the employee who tested positive had not been in the Clerk’s Office for more than a month, the employees who had close contact were not directed to self-isolate themselves. The Chief Deputy Clerk of the Criminal Department has not identified any other employees whom the employee who had tested positive would have come in close contact with, other than the specific employees in the Criminal Department who were contacted directly. Notification is being sent to all Clerk’s Office employees regarding the additional employee that tested positive for COVID-19.

The Office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court of Cook County announced today that an additional employee has tested positive for COVID-19. The employee, assigned to District 4-Maywood, located at 1500 Maybrook Dr., Maywood, IL, last reported for work on March 20th, and he/she did not begin to exhibit symptoms of COVID-19 until over a month after his/her last day at work. The employee is self-quarantining at home.

The employee who tested positive for coronavirus indicated that he/she was not in close contact with any District 4 or other Clerk’s Office employees on the last days that he/she worked. Notification is being sent to all Clerk’s Office employees regarding the latest employee to test positive for COVID-19.

The Department of Facilities Management is conducting routine cleaning of the area where the employee worked. In accordance with the Center for Disease Control current guidelines, a deep cleaning was not requested since a considerable amount of time has elapsed since the employee was in contact with the District 4 office.

To date, 22 employees of the Office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court of Cook County have tested positive for coronavirus and one employee has tested positive for the coronavirus antibodies blood test; bringing the total to 23 employee cases in the Clerk’s Office.


May 5, 2020

The Office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court of Cook County announced today that one more employee has tested positive for COVID-19. The employee, assigned to District 3-Rolling Meadows, located at 2121 Euclid Ave., Rolling Meadows, IL, last reported for work on March 20th, and he/she did not begin to exhibit symptoms of COVID-19 until over a month after his/her last day at work. The employee is self-quarantining at home.

Employees identified as having close contact with the District 3 employee who tested positive for coronavirus, the last time the employee was at the office, have been notified of the potential exposure to COVID-19. Since the employee who tested positive has not been in District 3 for more than a month, the employees who had close contact were not directed to self-isolate themselves. The employee has not identified any other employees whom he/she came in close contact with other than the specific employees in District 3 who were contacted directly. Notification is being sent to all Clerk’s Office employees regarding the latest employee to test positive for COVID-19.

Employees identified as having close contact with the Traffic Division employee who received the positive antibody blood test result, have been notified of the potential exposure to COVID-19. Since the employee who received the positive antibody blood test result has not been in the Traffic Division for more than a month, the employees who had close contact were not directed to self-isolate themselves. The employee who received the positive antibody blood test result has not identified any other employees whom he/she came in close contact with other than the specific employees in the Traffic Division who were contacted directly. Notification is being sent to all Clerk’s Office employees regarding the employee that tested positive for the coronavirus antibodies blood test.

MB Real Estate conducted a deep cleaning and sanitization of the entire Traffic Division on March 29, 2020. The Department of Facilities Management is conducting routine cleaning of the area where the employee worked. In accordance with the Center for Disease Control current guidelines, a deep cleaning was not requested since it has been longer than seven days since the employee had contact within the Daley Center.

To date, 20 employees of the Office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court of Cook County have tested positive for coronavirus. One employee has tested positive for the coronavirus antibodies blood test.


April 20, 2020

The Office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court of Cook County announced today that one more employee has tested positive for COVID-19. The employee was assigned to the Probate Division, which is located on the 12th floor of the Daley Center, 50 W. Washington St.; however, the employee primarily worked in a courtroom and last reported for work on March 27th. The employee is self-quarantining at home.

The Office of the Chief Judge and Sheriff’s Office have been contacted so that they can notify the employees within their agencies of the potential exposure to COVID-19. The employee who tested positive has not had close contact with any Clerk’s Office employees. Notification is being sent to all Clerk’s Office employees regarding the latest employee to test positive for COVID-19.

The Department of Facilities Management is conducting routine cleaning of the area where the employee worked. In accordance with the Center for Disease Control current guidelines, a deep cleaning was not requested since it has been longer than seven days since the employee had contact within the Daley Center.

To date, 20 employees of the Office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court of Cook County have tested positive for coronavirus.


April 16, 2020

The Office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court of Cook County announced today that an additional employee has tested positive for COVID-19. The employee worked in the Technology and Innovation Bureau, located on the 25th Floor of 69 W. Washington St., and has been out of the office for a substantial amount of time. The employee is in the hospital.

The employee who tested positive has not had close contact with any Clerk’s Office employees.Notification is being sent to all Clerk’s Office employees regarding the latest employee to test positive for COVID-19.

The Department of Facilities Management is conducting routine cleaning of the area where the employee worked. In accordance with the Center for Disease Control current guidelines, a deep cleaning was not requested since a considerable amount of time has elapsed since the employee was in contact with the 69 W. Washington, 25th floor office.

To date, 19 employees of the Office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court of Cook County have tested positive for coronavirus.


April 14, 2020

The Office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court of Cook County announced today that two more employees have tested positive for COVID-19. One employee worked in the Criminal Department at the Domestic Violence Courthouse, 555 West Harrison Street, Chicago, and last reported for work on March 18th. The other employee worked in District 4, 1500 Maybrook Dr., Maywood, Illinois, and last reported for work on March 20th. One of the two employees is hospitalized and the other is self-quarantining at home.

Employees at the Domestic Violence Courthouse and at District 4, who were identified as having close contact with the employees who tested positive, have been notified of the potential exposure to COVID-19; although, it has been greater than 14 days since employees in both office locations were exposed to the confirmed employees. Notification is being sent to all Clerk’s Office employees regarding the latest employees to test positive for COVID-19.

Routine cleanings of the areas where the employees worked were done, however, the Department of Facilities Management was not requested to conduct deep cleanings since both of the employees did not have contact with their respective office areas for a substantial amount of time, which is in accordance with the Center for Disease Control current guidelines.

To date, 18 employees of the Office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court of Cook County have tested positive for coronavirus.


April 13, 2020

The Office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court of Cook County announced today that an additional employee has tested positive for COVID-19. The employee worked in District 4, 1500 Maybrook Dr., Maywood, Illinois, and last reported for work on March 16th. The employee is self-quarantining at home.

Employees of District 4, who were identified as having close contact with the employee who tested positive, have been notified of the potential exposure to COVID-19; although, it has been greater than 14 days since the employees were exposed to the confirmed employee. Notification is being sent to all Clerk’s Office employees regarding the latest employee to test positive for COVID-19.

Routine cleaning of the area where the employee worked was done, however, the Department of Facilities Management was not requested to conduct a deep cleaning since the employee did not have contact with the District 4 – Maywood office area for a substantial amount of time.

To date, 16 employees of the Office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court of Cook County have tested positive for coronavirus.

Employees who were in close contact with the diagnosed employee have been notified of their potential exposure. Notification regarding the impacted area is being sent to all Clerk’s Office employees. The Clerk’s Office’s Department of Facilities Management and MB Real Estate have been notified to deep clean and sanitize the area where the employee worked.

As of today, 14 employees of the Office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court of Cook County have tested positive for coronavirus.


April 2, 2020

The Office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court of Cook County announced today that an additional employee has tested positive for COVID-19. The employee worked in the Criminal Department on the 10th floor of the Daley Center, 50 W. Washington St., and last reported for work on March 24th. The employee is self-quarantining at home.

The employee reported that he/she had no contact with the Criminal Department office area on the 10th floor of the Daley Center, nor with any other Clerk’s Office employees, on the employee’s last day at work. Notification is being sent to all Clerk’s Office employees regarding the latest employee to test positive for COVID-19.

Routine cleaning of the area where the employee worked was done, however, MB Real Estate was not requested to conduct a deep cleaning since the employee did not have contact with the Criminal Department office area for a substantial amount of time.

To date, 13 employees of the Office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court of Cook County have tested positive for coronavirus.

The Office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court of Cook County announced today that three more employees have tested positive for COVID-19. One employee worked in the Traffic Division on the Lower Level of the Daley Center, 50 W. Washington, and last reported for work on March 19th.

Another employee worked in the Domestic Relations Division on the 8th floor of the Daley Center, 50 W. Washington St., and last reported for work on March 20th. The third employee worked at the Cicero Records Storage and Digital Imaging Center (“Records Center”), 1330 S. 54th Ave., Cicero, Illinois, and last reported for work on March 25th. Two of the three employees are hospitalized.

Employees who were in close contact with the diagnosed employees have been notified to self-quarantine at home and monitor themselves for any COVID-19 symptoms for a period of 14 days. Notification regarding the impacted areas is also being sent to all Clerk’s Office employees.

The Clerk’s Office’s Department of Facilities Management and MB Real Estate have been notified to deep clean and sanitize the areas where the employees worked.

To date, 11 employees of the Office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court of Cook County have tested positive for coronavirus.


March 29, 2020

Both of the employees worked in the Traffic Division on the Lower Level of the Daley Center, 50 W. Washington, and both last reported for work on March 20th. One of the two employees is hospitalized.

Employees who were in close contact with the diagnosed employees have been notified to self-quarantine at home and monitor themselves for any COVID-19 symptoms for a period of 14 days. Notification regarding the impacted areas is also being sent to all Clerk’s Office employees.

March 28, 2020

The Office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court of Cook County announced today that two additional employees have tested positive for COVID-19. One employee worked in the Child Protection and Juvenile Justice Division, 1100 S. Hamilton Ave., and last reported for work on March 18th. The other employee worked in the Traffic Division on the Lower Level of the Daley Center, 50 W. Washington, and last reported for work on March 20th. Both of the employees are hospitalized.

Employees who were in close contact with the diagnosed employees have been notified to self-quarantine at home and monitor themselves for any COVID-19 symptoms for a period of 14 days. Notification regarding the impacted areas is also being sent to all Clerk’s Office employees.

The Clerk’s Office’s Department of Facilities Management and MB Real Estate have been notified to deep clean and sanitize the areas where the employees worked.

March 26, 2020

The Office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court of Cook County announced today that one additional employee has tested positive for COVID-19. The employee – a Chancery Division employee working in a courtroom – did not come into contact with any employees in the Chancery Division in room 802, Daley Center, 50 W. Washington. The employee has been hospitalized and last reported for work on March 17th.

The Office of the Chief Judge and the Sheriff’s Office have been contacted so that they can notify the employees within their agencies that were identified as having close contact with the employee who tested positive. The Office of the Building has been notified to deep clean the courtroom where the employee worked.


March 25, 2020

The Office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court of Cook County announced today that three employees have tested positive for COVID-19. The employees – one Criminal Department employee working at the Domestic Violence Courthouse, 555 W. Harrison, and two Traffic Division employees working on the lower level of the Daley Center, 50 W. Washington – did not come in contact with each other and appear to have contracted COVID-19 outside of the Clerk’s Office locations. Two of the employees are in self isolation, have not been hospitalized, and last reported for work on March 19th. The third employee is also in self-isolation, but was released today after being hospitalized on March 20th and last reported for work on March 19th.

The Clerk’s Office’s Human Resources Department has communicated with the three employees to determine who they came into contact with while they were at work prior to receiving their diagnoses. Employees who were in close contact with the three diagnosed employees have been notified to self-quarantine at home and monitor themselves for any COVID-19 symptoms for a period of 14 days. Notification regarding the affected areas is also being sent to all Clerk’s Office employees.

The areas where the three employees worked have been sanitized, and additional deep cleaning for the impacted areas is being conducted today.
