The Domestic Violence Division hears matters concerning: civil orders of protection, criminal actions involving relationships defined by the Illinois Domestic Violence Act including: all matters through the preliminary hearing or indictment in which the most serious offense charged is a Class 1, 2, or 3 felony, Class 4 felonies, misdemeanors, aggravated stalking, civil no contact orders and stalking no contact orders.

The Juvenile Justice Division has exclusive jurisdiction over all minors under the age of 17 who have been charged with violating a federal law, state law or municipal ordinance (other than a traffic, boating, fishing, or gaming law violation). Cases heard in the Child Protection Division involve: child abuse, child neglect, child dependency, private guardianship and termination of parental rights.
